Render to Reality | Shakespeare Kitchen

We love when kitchens fall apart…. said no one ever! Let’s be real, they are the heart of the home and get LOTS OF LOVE, so it’s no surprise when a kitchen with a family of 6 starts to loose its shimmer, and that’s when we come in! Our clients have hymned and hawed for a while on this project, teetering on when the right time is to redo the main hub of the home. The right answer is… there is never a good time to be out a kitchen but when the appliances started to not work that meant either starve or remodel. Ok, it’s not that bad but it was time.

What are we working with:

  • Braking appliances
  • Small working spaces for all appliance’s
  • A need for better exhaust to suck out the smells
  • A solution for the flooring to carry through the home
  • A way to fit larger appliances in the existing floor plan
  • A way to keep all doorways and windows
  • Clients who were open to the idea of no table since the formal dining is just around the corner
  • Some that needed the visual help … our favorite!

The clients wanted open, not trendy, yet traditional style to tie into the rest of the home. They wanted a large sink to handle all the dishes and to have a spot for the hand washed ones to dry, a bar sink in addition, bigger fridge, a large cooktop with a exhaust that will suck your hat off, and finishes that she will love and last a lifetime.

With our process, all spaces are two designs. Since we don’t like to keep secrets, we wanted to share the VERY different yet stunning designs that we were between! The first image is V1 which kept portion of the existing pantry by relocating the pantry door. V5, below on the right removed the walk-in pantry altogether and replaced it with cabinetry. The big difference was the fridge location and what that meant for isle ways.

When we talk about all the details, we mean all the details. With choosing V5 we n ew we had some unique features that meant custom cabinetry. This also allowed us to get a custom stain to make sure this kitchen would be the star of the show!

When you remodel, we expect surprises. In this project the HVAC was in the worse spot but thanks to JD Walz Contracting, they were able to find solutions that didn’t compromise the plan or hold up the project. With clear communication everyone was back in action keeping this project moving with a solid solution!

Now what you have all been waiting for, drumroll please…… take a minute and enjoy the end results as they are breathtaking! From the flow of finishes to the flow of the work triangle, down to the hardware, it’s a stunning kitchen we are so very proud of.

The project was so fun that the clients added on redoing the fireplace mid project to tie into the newly remodeled kitchen. We waved goodbye to the dated fireplace and happily welcomed a sexy fireplace design. The finish on this fireplace is all thanks to Ascent Fine Cabinetry! The custom beam, black painted white oak paneling turned out exactly how we wanted it to! We especially love the hidden door for the TV box that aligns so nice with the vertical shiplap!

This kitchen is one of our favorites! We work with the best people who trust our guidance, change up things with our designs and we can’t say thank you enough!

Wishing this family the best cooked meals and time together in their newly remodeled kitchen!
