Why do you need a designer?
A multitude of reasons make hiring a designer a good decision. Save money by getting everyone on the same page. Some little details can trigger big changes. Quicker decisions make for little revisions and can keep the project moving in production. Clear communication for all parties involved makes the process much more enjoyable.
How much time should you plan for the design process?
The average is a couple months for a concept design + selections, depending on the size of your project. Then there will be time to finalize your builder, finalize selections and go into the construction phase. Getting started with us early is highly recommended!
How much should you budget for a designer?
We offer a range in services. Our entry level service is our virtual mood board and is $600 per space. Our concept designs services range from $1,000-$4,000 (on average), depending on which spaces are included. To learn about which of our services fits your project, contact us to chat more!
If you already have a builder, are you going backwards?
Not at all! TTDC loves working with many talented builders. If you don't have a builder, we always encourage starting with us FIRST to establish the concept design and to work out the many details that would be assumptions or general arm waving. By working with us, you get a detailed concept package that makes interviewing builders a much easier process. Everyone knows what to expect even down to the smallest details and you will get an apples to apples quote. As a note, TTDC does not design projects that are already in construction as our goal is to bring you through the process in an organized, stress free and fun fashion.
When do selections come into play?
Instantly with our virtual mood board! For all concept designs, after we have completed the design and you have chosen your builder, we are ready to help you pull it all together with our guided shopping trip. We'd like to note that the large number of details that get captured on our guided shopping trips is what really finishes out the space in the planning process. Getting those details perfectly detailed out is what makes a space look more thought out and polished.
