When you are a art lover, color doesn’t scare you! In West Michigan we see a lot of neutrals and simple finishes that give a different vibe, so it can be fun and refreshing to have some color! Our elderly client has been dreaming of a kitchen update for a while, but making decisions alone were hard and emotional. His home is filled with art, art of different mediums, art of different sizes and every room reflects the art so beautifully, except the kitchen.

What our clients loved was the flow of the kitchen, the location of appliances and how it was open to a eat in breakfast nook that has amazing natural light. One of the biggest things we needed to incorporate into the new design was a spot for the old school shake mixer stand as its a daily event that happens in this kitchen. What he didn’t like is the excessive amount of wood, the tone on tone on tone vibes and the fact that the kitchen had paid it’s dues and was slightly falling apart were all the reasons he moved forward with a remodel.

In the existing plan, it shows just how well the space is laid out, how it flows so well from dining space to kitchen, the amount of light and the ease that the working triangle provided along with loads of countertop space.

The plan…. doesn’t look much different and if you just scoured between the two and not noticing a difference, you are correct! We are replacing the sizing and location of each cabinet with almost the exact same. What does change is the cabinet doors are now drawers, slow close on every cabinet, pull out drawer inserts, fresh style profiles that match the modern homes vibes, and LOTS OF COLOR!

Just how much color are we adding… take a look! Its a sea of blues, purples, wood tone warmth, brushed chromes, turquoise and whites! Fresh, clean and exactly what the client wanted!
